So it has reached the point where we are launching FrogOS to students at the Streetly Academy. Here is our first design of the school dashboard – a lot of content at this stage is embedded from Frog3. Click on an image to see it full size.
On the first page we have gone with:
- Links to GMail, Google Drive, Google Calendar – these are just links to Google pages, not something embedded in FrogOS at this stage.
- Clickview – a link which logs users into ClickView (an online video library)
- Raise – our Year 11 specific revision pages.
- A news area – we are using RebelMouse to generate content here taken from mutiple school and department twitter feeds. This ensures content is up to date and works in school – despite our block on Twitter.
This page includes the notifications (for work set in FrogOS) and an embedded Frog3 feed for work set in old Frog3. This enables us to use and set content from both platforms.
This is an embedded page from Frog3 – bringing the file store area across – again useful while content is transferred to FrogOS.
A notice area using the notice widget – this will probably not stay this quiet for long.
An embedded school calendar from Google Calendar.
The My Data Area contains Progress Check and Tutor Review Data – which is embedded from Frog 3. See my blog post about how we display this data in Frog.
We have embedded the Frog3 access to Network Drives here so that students can access their documents and the network shared documents off site.
Feedback from our digital leaders on FrogOS was that it was missing the social areas which we had in Frog3 – so we embedded it back into the dashboard.
